Description

Welcome to RangeLand Mburo Lodge “Where Nature meets Comfort”. Come and enjoy a stay at Rangeland Mburo Lodge, only 200 meters from Sanga gate, the gateway to Lake Mburo National Park. The lodge is located just outside the park and hence provides guests with a balanced wildlife and community experience. Take in the wealth of bird and wildlife living alongside the impressive long-horned Ankole cattle, all to a beautiful backdrop of the park. With its individual, en-suite rooms, a fully stocked bar and restaurant, Rangeland Mburo Lodge is the ideal budget / mid-range accommodation from which to explore this beauty of a park.

Rangeland Mburo Lodge is a peaceful and comfortable home where you can experience the local long-horned cattle mingled with the essence of wildlife from Lake Mburo National Park. The lodge offers seven houses which can sleep up to 14 clients and has a well-manicured camping ground. All our five double rooms have king sized beds while our two twin rooms hold two single sized beds. Each room has a private balcony and a spacious bathroom with solar heated water. The restaurant and bar overlooks the savanna grassland, an open area where animals roam freely.

The lodge is nestled in the base of two scenic hills with a wonderful view of its own. Animals such as zebra, warthog, impala and bush-buck roam around the lodge, often assembling at the dam below the compound. During the night, the noises of the bush echo around, bring the darkness to life and letting your imagination run wild.

With the National Park as our neighbour and our proximity to Sanga gate, our guests have endless interactions with the wild, taking it all in on nature walks, day and night game drives. The lodge offers both guided and unguided walks offering you a chance to get close to nature. The park can be explored on foot, vehicle or boat.

Activities

Nature and Game Drives

The lodge organises fantastic game drives around Lake Mburo National Park, to stunning viewpoints and game hot spots. The lodge boasts experienced guides who are happy to enhance your experience. You can easily combine a game drive with a nature walk to make the most of your time in the park.

Night Game Drives

Take a spotlight out on a drive at night and see what nocturnal creatures you can spot. Leopards, Bushbabies, hyenas, genets and many more species can be found once the sun goes down.

Walking Safaris

The lodge can organise walking safaris tailored to your needs. A guided nature walk which brings you closer to wildlife on foot is best enjoyed in the early morning or later in the afternoon. These walks typically take 2-3 hours.

Cultural Experience

The lodge promotes the connection of the community and wildlife through a community nature walk. Take a walk to the nearby cattle farms to participate in early morning milking and ghee making. As part of our community empowerment we have also partnered with neighbouring homesteads who open their doors to our guests to learn more about the lifestyle of the Bahima.
