Description
Budget tourists looking for nearby accommodation can book with this facility because it is found within the Rwonyo Park Headquarters. It is operated and managed by the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA). It offers spacious bandas, a campsite and tents mounted on wooden platforms. Tourists opting for camping with their tents can camp for free.
The Bandas are built with locally acquired building materials (for example grass/straws and wood) and the site offers clean bathrooms with warm water boiled locally with firewood and toilets that are shared by all the guests with no meals onsite but can be acquired from Lakeside restaurant-about 1 kilometer from the Park headquarters.
However, alcoholic drinks especially beer and non alcoholic drinks, and snacks can be acquired from the Park’s Canteen. The most interesting thing about this facility is that it is often visited by the park residents such as Warthogs, impalas, zebras, hippos and the Olive baboons among others. Due to its accessible distance, it becomes very easy for tourists to reach the Park Headquarters for briefing since it is the starting point for most activities of the Park.
Since this accommodation facility is operated by the Uganda Wildlife Authority, you can contact the UWA offices at Rwonyo Park Headquarters through +256 392 711346 or book from the UWA head office through +256 414 355409/410.
